..mute"

I am not sure who is running around my neighborhood with a big, fat Sharpie tagging everything standing still, but I really wish he or she would stop.

I am a fan of street art but not this tagging...it seems out of place here in Munich, at least in the streets nearest our building. The place I see that this tagging bothers me the most has to be on the walls of the Friedhof, or cemetery. It sure seems to me that the only names that should be honored or noticed there are the ones on the graves.

So, I say to you, ...mute", live up to your name and stay muted!
(or give us some real street art...)

Munich Graffiti, part Zwei

oooh, there have been a bunch of new graffiti slicks that have gone up in the days since I posted this.

I like that fact that these are left on electrical boxes, parking fee stands and NOT buildings.  It seems like the street artists here have a little more compassion for the buildings, some of them only having been rebuilt in the 50's after the bombings here during the war.

A few of the new ones I have found lately that have struck my fancy:

Anyone know what is up with the monkey?  I see it all over town!  I will have to do some research and get back with you!

Local Color

I have been noticing this graffiti lately around my neighborhood and think it is quite fascinating.  It makes me stop when I see it, and before you know it, I have my trusty blackberry out and am snapping pics...enjoy and let me know if you are as taken with it...

Ok, she is sort of menacing with her sword and all...but I hope that you find it as interesting as I do.....where else would you find street art with Lederhosen and a Mass of bier?  I am sure that there will be more popping up here in the city and I will continue to snap a pic, to share with you.
